Split Tray Sorter
| The split-tray sorter is a tray-based sorter designed for flat goods such as packages, books, items of clothing and accessories. The split-tray sorter can sort outgoing goods for shipping as well as returned goods for replenishment. It has a characteristic oval conveyor on which the trays rest. The “open oval” design allows the operator to work in the open part of the oval. Products are transported along the sorter on trays that transport the articles directly into the stations through a door mechanism. Products can be placed in the sorting tryas manually or automatically. Since this sorter drops the items into roll containers or bags, it is not suitable for the most delicate items.
